Knitting for Our Friends in Africa

“Kofia”

This is a new charity which was started in July 2013.  It is about helping with the survival of newborn babies in Tanzania by keeping them warm.  The simple idea that Kofia came up with was to provide knitted and crocheted hats which go a long way to helping to keep in the heat and preventing hypothermia.

What a great idea. It’s so quick and easy to produce baby hats. They can be made from such small amounts of yarn so every one who knits or crochets probably has plenty of yarn sitting waiting for a project. It seems that any style is acceptable although there are some suggestions of patterns are shown on the Knitting for Our Friends in Africa website HERE

If you are the organiser of this charity, please check out this page and then add to it or indeed ask for it to be re-arranged to include what you would like to see. We must ask though that you concentrate on what is required from knitters and crocheters and not list other types of fund raising here. People can go to your website if they wish to become more involved. Just use the form below and we shall make every effort to produce a page to your liking – there is no charge as we would not dream of taking any of the money raised for your charity.
